Rooted in the Desert.
Restored with Purpose.
Family-owned and operated vineyard in Valle Vista, Arizona — carried forward by hand, one restored acre at a time.
Early Valle Vista
Long before Quail Rock became a vineyard, this quiet corner of Valle Vista was defined by its wide desert light, its dry high-elevation air, and a rhythm shaped by the traffic along Route 66.
The property’s early character — the pond, the rocky rises, the native brush — is still anchored in everything seen today.

The vineyard begins
Bill and Angela Maddox planted the first vines on the property, establishing the foundation for what would become the Quail Rock Vineyard we know now. Their early work shaped the layout of the rows, the choice of varietals, and the character of the land under vine.
Jill and Gary West
In 2020, Jill and Gary West purchased the property and stepped into the role of caretakers. They arrived with a commitment to preserve what had been built and to restore what time and the desert had worn down.
Restoration extended across the vineyard, the supporting infrastructure, the tasting room, the wine-processing area, and the outdoor spaces — each rebuilt with care and intention.

Jill and Gary took on Quail Rock with a willingness to learn and a vision for what the property could become. Through each season, they have helped transform the vineyard into the place it is today while building a team that has become an important part of the Quail Rock story.

An accomplished Viticultural Specialist and Associate Winemaker, Rachel brings extensive experience in grape cultivation, vineyard management, and cellar work. Her years working throughout the Kingman wine community have given her a deep understanding of the region and the unique demands of growing grapes in Arizona’s high desert.
Known for her remarkable work ethic and attention to detail, Rachel plays an essential role in caring for the vines and supporting the winemaking process from vineyard to cellar. More than a valued member of the team, Rachel has become part of the Quail Rock family and an important part of the vineyard’s growth and success.
